Acne has more than one cause and is not something easily pinpointed. The glands in the skin become inflamed and get infected. The majority of Americans suffer with this problem at some point in their lives. It usually occurs around the age of twelve to twenty when the hormones are at their peak and in an imbalanced state. It is common to be seen on the neck, face, chest, back, and shoulders. It does not cause serious problems but can leave behind a deep scar.
There are some natural remedies that have been passed down for many generations and probably started at some point with a wonderful grandmother. Listed below are some of the more common treatments to use at home.
1. Try putting cooked oatmeal on the face for up to fifteen minutes and them wash the face completely. It will help to relieve the irritation of the swollen glands.
2. Add nettle and rosemary to warm water and soak a cloth in it. Place the cloth over the face while still warm and allow the herbs to seep into the skin. Rosemary has anti-inflammatory properties.
3. Combine lemon juice with rose water and apply to the acne area with a cotton ball soaked in the mixture. Leave the lemon rose water on the face for about an hour then wash off. Repeat this process every two weeks for the best results.
4. Garlic can be rubbed into the acne three times a day. The garlic can be left in clove form and cut so the juice is available to touch the skin. Make sure to wash the face thoroughly after application as it may have a strong odor.
5. Avocado is good for acne. Add an avocado to some warm water and create a paste. Apply this to the face and wash thoroughly. Remove with water and wash with an appropriate cleaner.
6. Adding a radish to your daily meals will be effective in treating acne.
7. Have a cup of rosemary tea two times a day until clear.
8. Honey and lemon in water three times a day will clear acne.
9. Add one tablespoon of yeast (dry or fresh) and two tablespoons of lemon juice. Put on the face. Allow the mixture to dry to a hard consistency. Try to keep the face still during the frying process. Peel the mixture off the face and wash with water that is very warm.
10. Use lemon juice or apple cider vinegar as a toner for the face. Soak cotton ball in moisture and apply all over the skin.
11. Combine regular tea bags to basil and boil for twenty minutes. Allow to cool to a temperature that is comfortable to the touch. Apply with a cotton ball to the face.
12. Use lettuce water on the face to rinse.
13. Take blanched bay leaves in water. Allow to cool and put on the acne areas.
14. Lavender water applied to the acne will relieve the inflammation.
An egg white wash on the acne will help to relieve the symptoms of the acne on the skin.
